Develop Robust Business Cases - Two Day Course
Research shows that failing programmes and projects rarely have a strong business case. Indeed a robust business case is central to successful projects and optimum benefits realisation. Yet a 2010 KPMG Project Management Survey revealed that "only one-third of New Zealand organisations always prepare a business case for all projects".
More often than not, the business case is primarily seen as a vehicle to get an idea across the line and secure funding for its implementation. Organisations that make sound investment decisions prioritise their projects and set them up to succeed, understand that the purpose of a business case extends well beyond that. They know that: "The purpose of a business case is not to justify the project. The purpose of the project is to implement the business case." This two-day course firmly positions the business case in the benefits realisation context and examines the vital and central role of the business case in maximising the generation of value from investment. It takes the participants through the process for developing a business case and, using case studies and practical activities, covers off on all elements of a robust business case. The participants will be introduced to the Business Case FrameworkTM.
The Business Case FrameworkTM comprises a complete set of recipes, resources, tools and templates required to establish an effective business case development capability. It provides you with a proven and pragmatic "how to" capability which is founded on best-practice and aligns with NZ Treasurys "Better Business Case" Guidelines. The customised adoption of the framework reduces your time investment and expedites the establishment of your organisations capability for developing robust business cases. The Framework is provided as integrated solution in combination with Xelocitys customisation, training, coaching and deployment services to ensure optimum and sustainable results.
