What is a Programme Support Office?

Programme or Project Support Offices within medium to large organisations are becoming the "norm" in business.  In order to maintain oversight of a vast number of projects, organisations are increasingly creating a centralised Programme Support Office (PSO).

Xelocity deliberately prefer to use the term Programme Support Office (PSO) rather than Project Management Office (PMO). It is important that these offices provide support to the business to achieve predictable benefits.  The ownership of the change projects or programme must remain with the business benefit owners (those responsible to recognise and implement key outcomes).
